I don’t want to assign numbers to it because I’m really not a critic. All I know is that if I shuffle these songs into my Jets playlist (Curren$y, Trademark, Roddy, DZA, and features) that chances are I’ll dig it.

Covert Coup, both Pilot Talks, and Cigarette Boats are all fantastic efforts, each mainly handled by one outstanding producer. I never really dug his mixtapes and studio albums because they lack the cohesive quality found in these tapes, and dude just sounds less inspired. It’s frustrating because I used to be a huge fan of this guy, but this influx of material just really isn’t working for me. I appreciate the sentiment, but I need some classic spitta tunes that I just haven’t been getting lately.

I just know what to expect and while he is not gettin worse, he is definitely not getting better. Also I kinda feel bad for him cuz the only time he REALLY tried something new – Muscle Car Chronicles – his fans didn’t even give him a chance (I actually loved it) cuz they just expect another “oh man, i’m gonna listen to that tape while I roll my joint” type of album from him.
