To be honest, I know absolutely nothing about Abigail Press, other than the fact that she is from the thriving Portland, Ore. I came across her music while surfing the Web, and her single “Drifting Dawn” jumped right out at me. She apparently produced and recorded all the vocals herself, which is pretty impressive considering how expansive this track is. The mood ranges from gloomy to uplifting, as the percussion kicks in and drops out throughout. Yes, the production is top-notch, but let’s also talk about Press’ voice, which suits “Drifting Dawn” beautifully. You can download the song for free at Melodica netlabel.
After doing a bit of research, I also found Abigail Press released another EP just a month ago titled Life Won’t Wait. The project features all outside production, a bit of a contrast from what you will hear on “Drifting Dawn”. The vocals are still there, though, matched by a wide range of tempos and instrumental styles. Check out Abigail’s offerings below, as we anticipate further workings from the promising artist.
