The world lost one of its most amazing and memorable voices yesterday with the passing of Bobby Womack. I’m struggling to really come up with the right way to honor such a legendary figure in music, so I’m letting 9th Wonder‘s new beat tape do the work for me. Farewell to the Soul Man is a collection of instrumentals from 9th’s catalogue that sampled Womack’s instantly recognizable vocals. There aren’t many artists like him around now that he’s left the world, and I can only hope that people continue to listen to and, more importantly, share his art. RIP Bobby.
