The homie 88-Keys, known for his production for everyone from Mos Def and Talib Kweli to Kanye West and Jay-Z, has been hyping this project to me for the past six months. Needless to say, I was pretty damn excited to see this thing hit the Internet. If you didn’t hear our last announcement, 88 is in the midsts of launching his label, Locksmith Music. His first round of signees consist of Nemo Achida, Tre DeJean, Mann95, Robert Akins III and Little Vic. You may or may not have heard of any of these MCs, but the fact of the matter is, they are hungry and are on to something special. This mixtape is the first step in the bigger scheme of things, as 88 plans to drop a slew of future projects in the near future with these artists.
