Here is a preview, hit the skip for the full entry…

What’s going on out there world?  Writing a blog/journal/diary kind of thing is something I should have been doing a long time ago, but hey, better late than never right?  I have to thank Potholes In My Blog for giving me the avenue to do this.

It’s 2 AM right now and I’m in the process of uploading an episode of NothergroundTV to VIMEO.  The episode is a recap of the whole month of January.  Looking back, I have to say 2009 was kicked off something proper.  I don’t want to go on and on in detail about what the video is, you guys can just watch it for yourself.  You’ll see footage from studio sessions, video shoots, shows, and much more.

Once that’s done uploading I gotta finish the mix on this The Kid Daytona record I produced called “The Minimum.”  We got the lovely Tiara Wiles (shouts to MicSean) to sing on the hook on top of my vocoder.  No, I am not using Auto-Tune, I’m using a real vocoder.  The record is real dope.  The Kid Daytona is real dope.  I’m overseeing a number of projects he’s working on, doing a lot of production and mixing and what have you.  You guys’ll prolly get to hear the record, well, today (hopefully).  The Kid Daytona rolls with the one and only Cipha Sounds, and I’m hearing that ya’ll should be able to see some video of Cipha holding it down.

Besides working with The Kid Daytona I’ve been working a lot with Outasight.  He’s real dope too.  He’s got an album coming out in June called “From Here To Eternity” and you can find me holding down the bulk of the album’s production.  You might have seen his video “Good Evening” on your TV.  Whether you have or you haven’t, you gotta come out to the Blender Theater on Feb 16th here in New York.  He’ll be performing as well as Fresh Daily and Oddisee.  You can expect me to be controlling the sound for Outasight’s performance.  It should be real extravagant and splendifferous.

A lot of folks have been asking me “Yo, what’s up with the Both Nice album?”  The answer is, that we’re letting it chill for a while, and we’re going to wait till the time is right.  In the meanwhile though, Wildabeast is going to be dropping an exclusive song every week with IllRoots.com as part of their K.I.D.S. campaign.  You know you’ll be able to peep those songs here at Potholes as well of course.  Big shouts to everyone who showed love on the Arcade Fly Remix, especially those involved like Buff1, Donny Goines, Fashawn, and U-N-I.  U-N-I dropped an ill mixtape with my man Mick Boogie, make sure ya’ll download that, I’m on 3 tracks.  Speaking of Mick Boogie and Terry Urban, they dropped a mixtape in honor of this year’s Grammy awards.  Make sure ya’ll check me out on that as well.

The biggest thing of all though is that I’m dropping an instrumental CD this week called “It’s A 6th Sense Beat Yo!!”  It’s a real special project for me, and I think ya’ll will really enjoy it.  Whether you freestyle cipher in ya bedroom, or you do mixtapes, blends, or you just like to chill to instrumentals, you’ll definitely enjoy the CD.  Shouts to everyone out there that’s been showing love to the project and it hasn’t even dropped yet!  A super big shout out thanks goes to Fernando Leon for creating the amazing artwork.  Big shouts to Kraff Swagger for helping me mix the CD, and big shouts to Alice Wonderland for throwing me a party this Wednesday.  The party is gonna be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to chill and have a good time with everyone.  We’re gonna be playing some new exclusives of course!

All right, I gotta wrap this up (wrap it up b!) because I definitely made this entry real long winded, but hey, it’s the first entry so I had a lot to talk about!  I’m looking forward to doing these each week.  This one might have been a little boring, but I promise the forthcoming entries will be exciting and interesting.  Signing off for Notherground Music, it’s 6th Sense.  And remember… I ain’t trying to be somebody, I’m trying to do something.

Peace,
6
