Deniro Farrar
Calls home: Charlotte, NC
Latest release: The Patriarch
Early last year marked the release of Destiny, Altered, which happened to put the Deniro Farrar’s promo/hype train in motion. Since then, the Charlotte rapper has released a handful of projects, quickly developing into one of the South’s most promising stars. Primed as a teller of hood tales and overcoming struggle, Farrar has found his niche in the rap game by teaming up with some of the most progressive, blissed-out producers.
We’re talking about producers like Keyboard Kid, Ryan Hemsworth, BK Beats, Black Noi$e and more, all of whom helped shape Farrar’s most recent and refined offering, The Patriarch. Deniro Farrar looks to follow up The Patriarch with an equally hyped sequel, The Patriarch II. And not only can you expect Farrar to build on his lyrical blend of storytelling and anthemic hooks, but he will have some of hip-hop’s finest behind him on the boards, too. Ryan Hemsworth, David Heartbreak, KIRA, and the Kickdrums are just some of the producers set to appear on the project, which drops June 18.—David Reyneke

the world desperately needs to know more about Mick Jenkins and Martin $ky, both are artists from Chicago. Mick’s “Trees & Truths project is the best hip hop release so far in 2013 (IMO, of course) and Martin should be releaseing TIMEless sometime soon but has a wealth of other material that is currently available.
