Just as we did last month, we’re back with another five-pack of hip-hop acts we feel that you really need to know. It needs to be stressed not all of these artists/groups are new, which means some of y’all will be familiar with some of the acts we have written about here. That being said, this could also serve as a friendly reminder that you haven’t listened to someone in a while and that, yeah, you should do that soon. Additionally, we’re trying to cover acts that either have new projects coming out soon or they just dropped one recently.

the world desperately needs to know more about Mick Jenkins and Martin $ky, both are artists from Chicago. Mick’s “Trees & Truths project is the best hip hop release so far in 2013 (IMO, of course) and Martin should be releaseing TIMEless sometime soon but has a wealth of other material that is currently available.
