The Warm Up Cypher Vol. 1

Brianna Perry – Plenty of charisma, style, and all that, but the raps just kind of fall flat. I’m sure plenty of dudes will be Google Image Search-ing, though, which is cool, I guess. She gets a C.

Relly – A decent Kat Stacks punch line and a nice reference to Biggie get overshadowed but way too much self-promotion. Dude gets a C-.

Fame – Comparing yourself to Bon Jovi is awkward, my man. So are those “white girl” lines (no pun), but the flow is solid. How about a C.

The Kid Daytona – The “___, so it must be ___” lines are getting really played out, but the Kid does well here. His energy level is unfortunately close to snooze status, so he only gets a C+.

K’La – She’s got one hell of a flow and rides the beat better than anyone else. But some of those rhymes are just … reaching. Still, K’La gets a B-.

Tito Lopez – Definitely the best of the bunch, if only because he’s not afraid to weave in and out of the pocket. There’s something to be said about confidence that doesn’t seem forced. Nice job. Lopez gets a B+.

Overall grade: C
