Here’s the latest joint from the homie Element & Germany’s Boozoo Bajou with DSL on production. The track features some smooth vocals over a mid-tempo hip-hop groove.
Last week Amen dropped his lead single featuring Saigon, leading up to the release of his free LP, Queens Boulevard. Although one may attribute the great success of that single to the appearance from Saigon, Amen is here to prove to everyone that he can step with the best of them. Along with some stellar raps from Amen, we also get some fresh production from Khrysis, Johnny Drama, Reasonable, Jah Freedom, and guest spots from Saigon, Sean Boog and more. Give it a spin and share your thoughts after the skip…
I hate the OS media player. Regardless, here is the video premier for The Roots jam, “How I Got Over”. You have heard about the controversy surrounding this joint, and I am going to agree, the live version bangs way harder! Along with this, I am sure you have also heard the talks of the new album being pushed back into 2010, we shall see what happens though. If that means a much better sounding Roots album, then I have nothing against that. Check out the video and share your thoughts…
We hit you with two singles off this free LP not too long ago, and today you get a chance to spin the entire thing. Mr. Kaos is one of the hardest working emcees in hip-hop today, so it’s only right that he comes up on top with such a stellar album like this. The album features guests like Homeboy Sandman, Von Pea, P.So, Wale, and more. Give it a download, spin it a couple times and let us know what you think about it in the comments section below… [Via TSS]
I went to the Mayer Hawthorne show this past Sunday in Toronto. Buff1, 14KT and MymanHenri were the opening acts for a sold out engagement at the Drake Hotel. MymanHenri, who’s another well-respected DJ opened things up with a twenty-five minute set that included some Jay Dee remixes and some down-tempo funk. It was a smaller venue at the Drake and the crowd was somewhere between hipster and hip-hop heads. Read the rest of this entry »
Here we are, the first official single off Kam’s upcoming LP, Splitting Image, due in stores October 27th. I can’t tell you how excited I am to cop this new album. Supastition made a huge impact on my life with his last effort, Chain Letters, so I expect nothing but greatness on the 27th. This joint right here is just anothing amazing lyrical performance over some silky smooth production from Veterano. Even though Kam has cooked up many songs with a similar formula, the content always changes and it never gets old. Give it a spin and share some thoughts after the skip…
Good and bad news today from the Outasight camp. We get our next peak at upcoming release, Brand New Day, but with that, we also hear that the release date has been pushed back. No word on how long exactly, but in the meantime we are going to have to just bump this fantastic track produced by the homie 6th Sense. This guy really doesn’t let up one bit. It seems like every track he puts out just continues to put him on a new level. Give it a spin and share your thoughts after the skip…
Here is the second leak from Señor Kaos’ Walk Softly & Carry A Big Brick, this time paying homage to the wonderful De La Soul, with the help of Von Pea and Homeboy Sandman. It’s great to see such a lineup of talented emcees take swings on a banger of a track from Supa Dave West, hopefully we see more and more tracks like this in the near future. Check out the single, and be prepared to cop the full album September 30th!
Steph just sent over this fresh collaborative joint between Lightheaded member, Othello and turntabalist DJ Vajra, along with fantastic feature spots from Haircut (Mayer Hawthorne) and the rest of the Now On crew. This is the remix to the first single from the collaborative album, The Required Taste, which will be out shortly. In the meantime, peep this track and click the picture to check out some more goodies via iTunes from these great artists… Those drums sound familiar don’t they?
Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and Marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.
Goodie Mob reunion show. If this means the whole group is getting back together, we have to admit we’re a little excited to see what comes of this. But if it’s just a reunion show? Eh, it’s difficult to look forward to a one-off concert.
