Welcome to the weekly rundown where we (soulsupreme and Marty) provide you with our top ten headlines for the week that was.
- DJ Houseshoes gets his laptop stolen. It’s a pretty sad story because there were a bunch of J Dilla rarities on that laptop. Hopefully he backed up all the music that was stolen.
- NBA Playoffs: Lakers/Orlando are in the NBA finals. Nike and David Stern are happy there will be some star power at the NBA Finals. Sorry, LeBron, maybe next year.
- Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 will be auto-tune free. Kanye calls it the anti-autotune album and that sounds very good to us. Read the rest of this entry »

Sexism has always been prevalent in this male dominated genre we call hip-hop. Granted we’ve always had female rappers. But most female rappers weren’t taken that seriously unless sex appeal was part of the overall image they we’re portraying. Read the rest of this entry »

![f1 f1 1023x396 Download: Vandalyzm Megatron Majorz [Free Album]](http://potholesinmyblog.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/f1-1023x396.jpg)
Vandalyzm just sent over his 2008 album, Megatron Majorz, if you had missed it the first time around. It’s good to see some upcoming emcees like Vandal make big moves by putting out some fresh music like this, and it should be interesting to see what he does in the near future (double LP this summer!). Right from the intro, Vandalyzm let’s you know that he is going to hit you over and over again during this 80 minute lyrical adventure, hitting you time and time again with punch lines and witty wordplay. The album features some high-energy production from cats like Khrysis, Swiff D, Flying Lotus, 14KT, Black Spade, and more. Vandalyzm produces a good share of the tracks on the record as well. Check it out and let us know what you think…

Here we have yet another download from Rhode Island-emcee Theo that originally premiered on imeem. Last week, he brought us the upbeat banger “Checkin’ In”. And now we have “Clould 9″, a smooth joint featuring a beat and vocals from Christian Rich. Although vocoder usually ain’t our thing, Rich uses it sparingly. Also, he more than makes up for it with the sparkling beat. The fun-loving, fresh rapper has certainly caught our attention over the months, both with his live performance and leaked tracks. But here’s hoping it leads a full-length or at least some kind of EP, because we could all use some more Theo.

Props to Put Me On It for posting this free instrumental EP from Oddisee, one of our favorite producers here at Potholes. Here’s eight free joints from Oddisee, including one that features Muhsinah, the songstress you might know from The Foreign Exchange’s Leave It All Behind and other projects.

Today Fashawn dropped an iTunes single from his upcoming solo debut, Boy Meets World, set to release this September on One Records. The first joint is called “Freedom” and it comes with the b-side “Our Way” featuring Evidence. That download also includes this free bonus track, “The Outer City”, which did not make the album. Now, if you have been following Fashawn at all, you know that his upcoming album is produced entirely by Exile. Some are even saying that this release is going to be better than Exile’s effort with Blu, Below the Heavens (we will see about that). Check out the track and be ready for more updates on this exciting project…
