You may remember SoulStice from his 2007 release, Dead Letter Perfect, which ended up being quite the underground hit. Or maybe even before that in 2005 you copped his debut, North By Northwest. Today he leaks the first track off his upcoming concept LP, Beyond Borders, featuring Oddisee and produced by SBe. By the way, is it just me or is Oddisee all over the damn place the past month or so? 3Anyway, this is a really fresh track for you to bump, full of forward-thinking  lyrics and a soulful instrumental. Stay tuned for more updates on this very promising LP and let us know what you think about “Unfold”…

Kero One dropped one of my favorite LPs for far this year with Early Believers, and today he is back with a very dope remix he did for Talib Kweli’s “Keep It In The Pocket”. I believe this was on Kero’s Myspace a while back, but it is finally here for your downloading pleasure. Some very smooth production on this remix, something that is just a given these days from him. Check out the track, cop the album, and let us know what you think!

Print just sent over two tracks that didn’t make the final cut for his album, Comic Books: Unlimited. They may have not made the album, but they sure do still bang. Clyde & Harry Productions came through very strong on “Smallville”, while P.CASSO graces the second track, “Super Bad”. Check out these joints, let us know what you think, and be on the lookout for more music coming from the AOK Collective in the near future!

Here is the second leaked single off Finale‘s latest LP, A Pipe Dream and A Promise. Finale has been on the bubble as far as Detroit emcees come, but this album right here marks his official emergence into the elite. Not only does Finale do his thing on the rhymes, Pipe Dream features one of the greatest production lineups I have ever come across. The single being dropped in this post, shows off some sensational production from DMV’s Oddisee, a perfect example of what to expect on the LP. After you peep the track, check out the exclusive interview we did with Finale! Enjoy…

Better Year For Hip-hop Releases 1994 versus 1996

Discussion image

The golden era in the early 90′s is considered by most the best time in hip-hop. The quality of hip-hop being created in that time between 1991-1996′ is unmatched unless you consider 1988. Over the years 1994 has always the year some people lean towards or remember because of two classic LP’s; Illmatic & Ready to Die. However, as I listen to Reasonable Doubt, Stakes Is High and some of the other notable releases from 1996 I think its a lot closer than it seems. Which year do you think was a better year for hip-hop? I’ve included ten of the most memorable releases from each year.

Video: Mayor Hawthorne – Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out

Alright this song right here, definitely places in one of my favorite joints in the past few years. I am sure you have all heard it before, but today marks the world premier of the official video. Check it out as Mayor takes a journey, showing the many places he has taken his “heart”. Once your done watching, share your thoughts and be looking out for more material from Mayor Hawthorne in the time to come!
